RPC -Try to describe your book in one sentence.
Jen – You’ll find love, action, and fantasy in this book, then come the plot twists.

RPC – State a random fact about yourself that would surprise your readers.
Jen – I know how to shoot a bow, and weld.

RPC – Do you listen to music while writing?

Jen – Music plays an important role in my writing, putting me in the mood for scenes, getting ideas etc, however I don’t actual listen to music while I write because then I get distracted.

RPC – Do you write at a laptop/desktop or do you write freehand?

Jen – I write on my trusty laptop. Very rarely I’ll write something freehand and only when I have an idea and no computer available.

RPC – Which scenes were the hardest to write?

Jen – The most challenging scenes for me to write are fight scenes. I can find it difficult to write everything that’s going on, and not have wandering body parts or confusion.

RPC – Did you know the title before you started writing?

Jen – For novels I never have the title beforehand, and usually struggle with coming up with one even after the book is finished. The title Sweet Light came from Shara being a sweet character and also that she is often called sweetness. The Light is in regards to her healing powers.

RPC – Are you a plotter or a pantzer?

Jen – Very much a pantzer. My stories are quite character driven and my characters tend to have a mind of their own on where the stories are going. I will take notes as I write, to avoid confusion and to make sure all story lines that need to be tied up are taken care of.

RPC – Did you do any research before start or during of the writing of the books?

Jen – I research as I write. Google is my friend!

RPC – How many books do you read/month?

Jen – With so many projects on the go lately, my reading has been severely cut back the last few months just 3-4 books a month. When I’m not as busy then I read much more.

RPC -Morning person or night owl?

Jen – Most certainly not a morning person. I require a lot of coffee. I’m more of an evening person, as I don’t usually stay up very late either LOL

RPC – What projects are you currently working on right now? Would you mind sharing them with us?

Jen – The sequel to Sweet Light, Dark Madness, is currently in edits. I also have a new YA fantasy, Broken Aro in edits and it is to be released this summer. Writing wise, I’m working on more stories for a Flashy Fiction and Other Insane 2, and the sequel to Broken Aro.

 

When fate conspires against you and gives you three loves to choose from, what do you do? What if you make the wrong choice?

Shara is a healer, raised and trained from childhood until her unique gift manifests itself. When she gains the rank Journeyman she is hired to serve as the court healer for the barbaric kingdom of Glendor.

Untrained for war, she is thrust unmercifully into its bloody arms when the kingdom is invaded. Ordered by her king to the front lines to tend the wounded, she is forced to flee when their camp is attacked. Happening upon a wounded soldier in the forest, every mile back to the capital is a struggle, and breaking the healer’s code, she falls in love with her charge.

If Shara thought that to be the least of her troubles, the appearance of a fierce warrior captain who appoints himself her protector, teaches her differently. Trouble comes in threes at the appearance of a former love and fellow healer. Faced with decisions of the heart and the sudden manifestation of her gift, there is little room for anything else to go wrong. Or at least that’s what Shara thought.

 

Jennifer Wylie resides in rural Ontario, Canada with her  two boys, Australian shepherd a flock of birds and a disagreeable amount of wildlife.. In a cosmic twist of fate she dislikes the snow and cold.

Before settling down to raise a family, she attained a BA from Queens University and worked in retail and sales.

Thanks to her mother she acquired a love of books at an early age and began writing in public school. She constantly has stories floating around in her head, and finds it amazing most people don’t. Jennifer writes various forms of fantasy, both novels and short stories. Sweet light is her debut novel.
