Romance Promo Central would like to welcome you to Book Blogger Friday! The purpose of Book Blogger Friday is to introduce authors to Book Bloggers. Today we are meeting Cherie from Surrounded by Books Reviews. Visit her blog and say hi! Remember, this isn’t an invitation to swamp her with review requests. It is, however, an invitation to make some bloggy friends.
RPC – Do you see yourself as a voracious reader?
Cherie – Yes, to some extent. I always wish I had more time to read, but I do try to average a book a week.
RPC – How long have you been blogging?
Cherie – I have been blogging for three and a half years.
RPC – What made you decide to start book blogging?
Cherie – I am a writer too, so I wanted to split my writing-related blog from my reading-related blog, so I created my book blog, Surrounded by Books Reviews.
RPC – What genre(s) does your blog focus on?
Cherie – I don’t deny a book based on the genre per se, but I prefer fantasy, mysteries/thrillers, soft science fiction, and romance from Middle Grade to Adult.
RPC – Has your reading tastes changed since you started your blog?
Cherie – Yes. I have found I’m pickier about what I read. There are too many books and too little time.
RPC – Do you post reviews on your blog?
Cherie – Yes, I do. I also post them on Goodreads and usually Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
RPC – How many review requests do you get each month on average?
Cherie – Right now, Surrounded by Books Reviews is closed to review requests. When I first opened up, I was inundated with requests. I still have books from two years ago waiting for a read and review. But I do hope to clear out my list in the next few months, so I can open to review requests again.
RPC – Do you have a Review Policy or something similar?
Cherie – Yes, I do have a review policy. When I do accept books, I also often want to see a sample/excerpt before I accept a review. This way I can find the best books for me to read and review.
RPC – Do you review Indie or Small Pub books?
Cherie – Yes, I do. I love books and authors. I don’t care how someone chooses to publish.
RPC – Do you host guest posts or interviews?
Cherie – I have in the past. Now I mainly do guest posts and interviews on my author-related blog as opposed to my book blog. I do participate in memes such as Teaser Tuesdays and Waiting on Wednesday on my book blog.
RPC – What information do you require when an author approaches you?
Cherie – When I am open to reviews, I appreciate an author filling out the form on my blog, which includes author name, book title, publisher (if any), genre, book description, book length, and an excerpt.
RPC – How can we stalk you?
